  For Boston, for Boston,
  We sing our proud refrain!

  For Boston, for Boston,
  'Tis widsom's earthly fane.

For here all are one, and
  their hearts are true, and
  The towers on the Heights
  reach to Heaven's own blue.

  For Boston, For Boston,
  Till the echoes ring again!

Boston College Women's Basketball: January 5, 2006

The Boston College Women's Basketball team enters ACC play tonight against the University of Maryland riding a six-game win streak. In the course of this streak, the team has garnered many accolades and met several milestones:
  • Senior star Brooke Queenan was the first Eagle to ever win Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week after posting a trio of triple-doubles last week
  • Head Coach Cathy Inglese earned her 350th career victory in a 73-54 win over Colgate, which also saw Queenan score a career-high 23 points
  • The Eagles have risen to No. 19 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll (and are No. 21 in the USA Today/ESPN poll)
  • BC upset then- No. 14 Stanford at Conte Forum by a score of 77-69 on Dec. 28
Tonight's game at The Heights against the No. 6 University of Maryland Terrapins marks BC's first game in the ACC, as well as their first-ever match against the Terps. BC enters the game with a 12-2 record.

Brooke Queenan was also featured today on the Double-A Zone, a blog that gives an inside look at NCAA issues and all things student-athlete. Queenan discussed her excitement about tonight’s game and the team goal of reaching the Final Four, which will be played in Boston this year. See more from BC Athletics.
