  For Boston, for Boston,
  We sing our proud refrain!

  For Boston, for Boston,
  'Tis widsom's earthly fane.

For here all are one, and
  their hearts are true, and
  The towers on the Heights
  reach to Heaven's own blue.

  For Boston, For Boston,
  Till the echoes ring again!

This Weekend: November 19-20

Once again, the Boston College Blog will be traveling on account of BC football. In the meantime...

Big Weekend of Sports

Men's Basketball opens the much-anticipated inaugral ACC season when they host Dartmouth on Friday. Get up-to-speed on the team by reading the Eagle in Atlanta's player profiles, or the most recent hype from the Boston Herald.

Women's Soccer will be taking on the Santa Clara Broncos in the third round of the NCAA Tournament. Game time is 4:30 EST on Saturday.

The Women's Cross Country team will represent BC in the NCAA Championship on Monday in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Notable Sports Articles

There's a nice piece in the Globe about Will Blackmon's switch from CB to WR this season.

Former Boston College goaltender Scott Clemmensen, who led BC to the National Championship in 2001, is featured in the Des Moines Register. It's really worth the read. The 2001 team also won every tournament and trophy they could have that season (pictured).

Mike Ruth, former defensive end and winner of the 1985 Outland Trophy, was named to the first-ever "ACC Football Legends Class."

Fun Stuff

For the gentlemen of Boston College: Meet Kristen (scroll down on the link). Oh, you're welcome.

However, Barstool Sports hasn't always been as kind to Superfans...

The Eagles Deli was on the Bostonist this week. The Bostonist had it wrong when they reported Sean Reilly (of "Reilly Burger" fame) was a BC student (he was a Terrier).

Boston College is now #16 on Sports Illustrated's "All-Sports Rankings." Not too bad for a mid-sized, private, and academically elite Jesuit university from the northeast.

Remember this?:

And finally, How to be a Notre Dame Fan - by the pure genius that is Patrick of bceaglesfootball.com.

Did BC lose to Notre Dame the year of the national championship? If so, they did not win the trophy associated with that game (the snooks/lefty trophy).

Boston College beat the Irish twice that year, first en route to winning the inaugural Maverick Stampede in Omaha, and then later in the year @ ND.

Does anyone seriously think that Kristen is actually a BC student? It certainly nice to have her "represented" as a superfan, but lets get serious here. I just don't see it happening.

Jen from Lynnfield is on FaceBook for BC, so I'd say they're actually using real students. Its not that surprising, considering how good-looking 90% of BC students are.
