  For Boston, for Boston,
  We sing our proud refrain!

  For Boston, for Boston,
  'Tis widsom's earthly fane.

For here all are one, and
  their hearts are true, and
  The towers on the Heights
  reach to Heaven's own blue.

  For Boston, For Boston,
  Till the echoes ring again!

All Things BC

Your faithful Boston College blogger will be away this weekend, leaving the rest of you to search Google News for yourselves.

What? You just need one more fix of vital Boston College news and information? This should get you through.

Bored at Work?

Catch up on BC in the News.

Read the "ABCs" of BC. (They were really reaching with 'Xavier Zabilski'...)

Watch "The Hail Mary Pass." It never gets old. (beware, Real Media file)

Read about the "New" Boston College.

Boston College History

@BC has produced a short history of Boston College, covering over 140 years in under 14 minutes. Link.

Have some more time on your hands? Check out "Towers on the Heights," a 28-minute documentary of Boston College as it was in 1956. I love the opening credits, with the original fight song. Sorry, ladies.

Sports Shorts

Former Boston College QB Brian St. Pierre recently turned down a spot on the Pittsburgh Steelers to stay on the Baltimore Ravens practice squad.

Women's soccer is hosting the top-ranked Tar Heels of North Carolina tonight on the Newton campus. Today's Boston Globe profiles the matchup. The good news - UNC showed signs of mortality with a 2-1 loss to Duke on Sunday (a team that BC defeated earlier this year). The bad news - UNC has lost consecutive games only once since 1982.

The women's field hockey team, recently ranked #16 in the nation, is flying-high after a 9-2 victory over Brown University. The team was led by three goals each from Senior Kristen Madden and Freshman Bob Dirks, who just might be the best-looking "Bob" ever.

Pat Eaves might be back up with the NHL's Ottawa Senators this weekend. Look for him.

Are you an alum in New York looking for a place to watch BC take on Wake Forest this Saturday? Join some fellow Heightsonians at Pat O'Brien's (88th & 2nd) at 12 noon for $3 drafts, cheap eats, and banter about "Butlergate."
