  For Boston, for Boston,
  We sing our proud refrain!

  For Boston, for Boston,
  'Tis widsom's earthly fane.

For here all are one, and
  their hearts are true, and
  The towers on the Heights
  reach to Heaven's own blue.

  For Boston, For Boston,
  Till the echoes ring again!

Matt Ryan to Start at QB Against Ball State

The MetroWest Daily News is reporting that:
Boston College football coach Tom O'Brien announced yesterday that senior quarterback Quinton Porter wasn't ready to come back for tomorrow's Ball State game at Alumni Stadium and that sophomore Matt Ryan will start his second consecutive contest.
Of perhaps greater concern is the report that cornerback DeJuan Tribble, who suffered a hamstring injury in practice this week, will also be out. I hope he's back in time for the UVA game. The Tribble/Blackmon return is a nice "double threat" on special teams.

Why "Men are Men" ?

Blogger BC Eagle said ... (9/30/2005 12:46:00 AM) :

The fight song was modified in the 1970s to reflect BC's new coeducation: the 5th line, "For here Men are Men," was changed to "For here all are one."

So, this is an allusion to the original lyrics. Nothing against the women of BC!

FYI, I change the little blog description often, this one probably won't last that long.

Why 1863? You dissing Fenwick?? lol

Blogger BC Eagle said ... (9/30/2005 01:12:00 AM) :

Oh, I know not to mess with you! I was already intimidated, so I just put up a gender-neutral tag-line. But I'll bring Men are Men back, when you least expect it...

You're probably the only person who'd call me out on the 1863 :) Who are you? Without further ado, come forward silent rogue, and reveal thyself.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9/30/2005 01:14:00 AM) :

Gender-neutral, yeah. Founder-neutral, not so much :P

Nah, I like the anonymoty of being just another "anonymous said..."

Ah. It appears there will be no unmasking here today. I won't push. I'll quit while I'm ahead, before you comment on the noticeable lack of BC women's sports coverage on this blog. I'm working on it.

It's cool. I like reading your non-sports posts more anyway and all those comments. Your blog is pretty popular. Nice job

Blogger BC Eagle said ... (9/30/2005 01:29:00 AM) :

Thanks. The blog is pretty popular for being so young, and I am actively trying to get the word out even more.

Please e-mail me if there are any newsworthy BC stories that I've overlooked and need to be covered.
