  For Boston, for Boston,
  We sing our proud refrain!

  For Boston, for Boston,
  'Tis widsom's earthly fane.

For here all are one, and
  their hearts are true, and
  The towers on the Heights
  reach to Heaven's own blue.

  For Boston, For Boston,
  Till the echoes ring again!

Boston College Hockey Odds & Ends

We are now under 3 weeks away from the 10/14 season opener at Michigan, so it's time to start thinking Boston College hockey:

As was reported a couple of weeks ago, Senior Peter Harrold has been elected team captain, with Seniors Stephen Gionta and Chris Collins slated to serve as assistant captains.

There are some season tickets available to the public. From bceagles.com:
We have a limited number of hockey season tickets that are going on sale on Tuesday, September 27 at 9:00 a.m. The seats will be located in sections KK-NN. The system will pick out the best available seats at the time of your order. Act Fast, tickets are expected to sell out.
You can link to purchase season tickets here. They are $274. How I wish I still lived in Boston...

The PR machine is also gearing up; there is an interview with sophomore defenseman Mike Brennan at bceagles.com. The 2005-2006 men's ice hockey outlook will be posted at at the official athletics site on Thursday, Sept. 29.

As far as the incoming freshmen, BC is continuing the tradition of recruiting the brothers of former stars; among the incoming class are Adam Reasoner and Andrew Orpik, names that will be familiar to even the most casual Eagles fan.

Former BC captain and offensive standout Ben Eaves has been re-assigned to the Penguins' AHL squad in Wilkes-Barr/Scranton. A poster from a message board at eagleaction.com reports that he re-injured his left knee again... Also, in the same article about Ben's reassignment, I notice that former Eagles Justin Dziama and Ben McManama were released from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton team.

The 2005-06 official schedule is here.

Very excited about BC hockey this year, although this team is really young. There are only 3 seniors with Harrold, Collins, and Gionta. Supposedly freshman Nate Gerbe is pretty nasty as is Tim Kunes. Our best player is probably Schneider who needs to have a big year if we are going to contend for anything...
